We won the pitch to design the identity to mark Big Ben’s 150th anniverary.
The brief called for something which would represent all component parts of Big Ben – the bell, the clock mechanism and the clock tower. Added to this, there was a requirement to be able to reproduce the logo at a small size, for it to be displayed with and without the date strapline and for it to be used across a wide range of formats and media, including merchandise.
Our solution also included a more elaborate illustration – a composition of the various related elements – that could be employed on printed material.
Related projects to date have included the design of exhibition panels sited within the clock tower, and a plaque to display the text written on the bell itself, again sited alongside the bell.
