Nordjyllands Kunstmuseum
Tapko – The Museum
Project info

Nordjyllands Kunstmuseum is an art museum in Aalborg, Denmark. The building was designed by Alvar Aalto and opened in 1972.

Tapko is a group of 3 artists who come together on occasion to create an exhibition. For Tapko–The Museum, each member teamed up with an international artist to develop an installation. Working in these pairs they produced work informed by the museum’s collection and architecture.

We were commisioned to design the catalogue and, together with the artists, we edited the photography. The catalogue has 4 sections – an introduction and a section for each pair of artists. A different coloured stock is used for each one and these are left exposed on the spine to make a visual distinction between them. A slipcase acts as the cover. Inside, the artists’ intials are used as shorthand, in title pages and captioning.
