A series of plaques in vitreous enamel featuring different letters and numbers, size 70mm x 115mm. Suggested uses include as a door or house number, a name on a child’s bedroom door, initials on a mantle piece, a memento to mark a special date, a label for a storage box, an oversized keyring... The plaques are available in red, blue, green or black (please note that the green is the lighter of the two seen in the images on the right).

The plaques that make up the ‘Enamel Alphabet’ series are produced in vitreous enamel. In order to produce the plaques sheet metal is screenprinted with the letter or number using an ink that has been combined with glass particles. These glass particles are then fused to the metal by firing the plaques at temperatures in excess of 800 degrees Celsius. This produces an object which has a hardwearing surface and is both temperature and chemical resistant. Every plaque is unique and any imperfections that may result from their production using this traditional manufacturing technique only add to their character.
