We worked with Tate Publishing on a special edition of the Frank Bowling monograph, originally designed by us and published to accompany his 2019 exhibition at Tate Britain. Rather than simply containing Bowling’s work, the special edition brings its language into the physical form of the book. Stencil-inspired typography is foil-blocked onto the cloth cover, while pink and yellow thread runs through the exposed spine. The cloth slipcase is printed with Bowling’s Bartica Bressary (1978–79), extending the artwork beyond the pages. Limited to 200 signed and numbered copies, the book becomes an object in its own right — a physical expression of Bowling’s colour, energy and materiality.
